POETRY: In Loving Memory

The times we shared were not enough,
But you were there through smooth or rough,
The good, the fun, the memories,
The bad, the sad, you smiled through these,
You came, you saw, you conquered life,
You taught us we can't live it twice,
You're gone, but I can't comprehend,
Rest in peace, my dear friend.

POETRY: Winds of Change (Rework)

She entered my world a tropical wind,
both exciting and fatal in equal dose,
she occasionally raged and blew off the roof,
but that was when I loved her the most.

Like change in the winds I made her feel high,
and just as she did, I made her feel low,
I sit in her vortex affecting her way,
I can't do her justice and so I must go.

The end of our journey became unsure,
clouds from the east gathered above,
I looked to the sky and rains washed my soul,
but forecasts had changed, she'd spent all her love.

The weather is mine, I'm not just a man,
whenever she blows remember my name,
the blame for destruction lays at my feet,
my beautiful storm now a hurricane.

POETRY: A thought...

My thoughts, what are they, are they mine?
Or are they yours, can they define?
Is this you, appropriated?
Recycled thoughts, should I be feted?

I see, I think, am I unique?
Or do I mimic words you speak?
Can I be, my own man?
To conjure thoughts that no one can?

Impossible, do some say no?
Should I accept the status quo?
Or shall I strive for something new?
I hope I find it before you.

POETRY: Hurricane Jessica

She entered my world a tropical wind,
exciting and fatal in equal dose,
She occasionally raged and blew off the roof,
but that was when I loved her the most.

The end of our journey became quite unsure,
Dark clouds from the east gathered above,
I screamed to the gods let rain strike me down,
but forecasts had changed she'd spent all her love.

Like change in the winds I made her feel high,
and just as she did I made her feel low,
I sit in her vortex affecting her way,
I can't do her justice and so I must go.

The weather is mine I'm not just a man,
whenever she blows remember my name,
the blame for destruction should lay at my feet,
my beautiful storm now a hurricane.
